I ended up having to work today, so I kind of forgot all about the meme. Time to catch up.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four things you want in a romantic partner.
Day Eight: Three of your favorite possessions.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life or yourself right now.
Day Ten: One confession

1. Humor. Humor, humor, humor. This is probably first and foremost, because I tend to treat most things as worthy of poking fun at, and I enjoy having a laugh as often as possible. My sense of humor can run pretty dark, though, and honestly finding someone with that similar sense is pretty damn difficult (but, obviously, not impossible).

2. Intelligence. Without sounding redundant, I'm smart, and I pride intelligence above a lot of other things. I doubt I could be with anyone I considered an idiot (and, really, I guess I broke that rule a few times, but hindsight is 20/20). At the very least, I want to know that this person understands things and things in a complex or critical manner, someone interested in the news, politics, current events, etc., instead of just interests and hobbies 24/7. I'm not a news junkie, but I stay informed, and I also like to read / find interesting, strange information I didn't know. I like that quality in someone else, because it makes for interesting conversation, and prevents the 'this person is a retard' thoughts.

3. Political leaning. Yeah, I guess I have to admit that I'd be pretty hard pressed to date or be attracted to someone who was totally the polar opposite of me socially / politically. I tried it once, it ended badly. Basically, though, I really just like someone open minded and progressive; that doesn't mean I want someone who hugs trees and joins Greenpeace. I basically find Humanitarians or Humanists 'appealing,' because I'd rather someone want to work for the betterment of humanity than for the tired interests of political parties.

4. Being a Flaneur. I've mentioned this before, but one of my favorite past-times is going out into public places and just walking / looking around at things. Window shopping slash people watching is something I really enjoy, and I have to admit that's not an interesting thing for a lot of people. If someone enjoys it as well, though, it makes it a lot of fun--I'm not particularly "Active," but I do enjoy going out just to clear my head, and finding someone who also likes that is really fantastic.

5. Being okay with acting like a jack ass in public. I'm not the sort to just tip over garbage cans, but I am the sort to play with things or laugh loudly or make jokes in stores. And if a person is also that open to playing around without caring what others think, then that really appeals to me. I'm not saying they have to be into knocking over mailboxes and shit, but randomly going to Wal-Mart at 2 am being something they like to do because it's 'funny' is something I find really endearing.

6. Musical experimentation. I don't know if I could really find someone stuck in a certain 'genre' really interesting, at least in the sense that music would be a big part of the conversation; and, honestly, it kind of is for me. I'm not a huge music snob but I listen to it a lot thanks to my commute, so I always like to listen to different things. Someone open to wanting to experiment with music is great, but I also like a person who says 'I like this, try it,' and doesn't get offended if I say 'no I don't really like it,' and is also willing to say 'I don't like that' about something I might like.

7. Work Ethic. I may be a lazy fuck when I'm off, but that's because I earn it. And I like someone with a similar ethic--work hard, play hard, etc. I don't think I could really be with a person who sits around all day and does nothing, waiting for life to give them everything, but I also doubt I could be with someone who wants nothing but strict scheduling, work work work, etc. I want someone who appreciates what hard work brings, and is able to reap those rewards.

8. Palate. I eat a lot. I like eating (these are nice ways of saying I'm a bit "puffy.") But I really only like eating good food. Someone who is interested in both cooking and eating "well" is important to me; basically, if your diet consists of places you can drive through, or chain restaurants being "fine" dining, I don't think we'd have a very long future.

I'll do the next part in a separate entry
