Sorry this one won't be filled with me venting at people I can no longer confront

however if you'd like I could still work in some vitrolic comments after, if one would like to get upset about it being angry hokum

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four things you want in a romantic partner.
Day Eight: Three of your favorite possessions.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life or yourself right now.
Day Ten: One confession

1. I am a much bigger otaku than I let on, or perhaps than people think. Yes, I have mountains of manga, but I also am a semi-avid collector of doujinshi from certain circles, and I have a gigantic collection of anime figures and goods, so much so that they literally adorn my desk as I type. However, my tastes are probably not what people expect. I do spend a lot of time reading 'smart' manga or watching 'good' series, but I enjoy bizarre japanese comedies the most, and I have a big soft spot for certain types of 'action' shows--in particular, I'm a very big fan of A Certain Scientific Railgun, and as such also Index. ToraDora is probably the best romance show I've watched, and I'm enjoying Ore no Imouto a lot. I'm a huge Haruhi fan, and I'm dl'ing a BD rip of the Disappearance movie as we speak; in fact, many of the 'light novel to anime / manga' series are things I really, really enjoy. Not all anime / manga has to be 'smart' because honestly most of it is not.

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing something stupid like a naruder headband, though, because that's a level of idiocy, not fandom.

2. I can crack almost every joint on my body, and I do so regularly. I can actually crack most of my fingers twice, once in the finger-knuckle and another time at the 'base' knuckle. I can also crack my thumbs, toes, knees, chest, back, jaw, and most importantly my neck. In fact, if I don't crack my neck it begins to hurt. It sometimes sounds like firecrackers or ice being chewed / broken, from what I'm told.

3. I pride myself on 'status' a little too much. I'm not a prima donna, but I want people to respect my opinions and positions. The easiest way to make me hate you is to treat me like I'm either below you, or that I somehow don't matter. I work hard for my positions, especially at work and my education, and I won't be disrespected by someone I believe to be 'lesser' than me. It probably sounds snooty, and it is, but I don't care. At the very least, it also plays into how I make friends; if my friends don't reciprocate the same level of respect I give them, then they can go eat cake.

4. Speaking of, I don't make friends very easily. I consider most people acquaintances, not friends. I've been burned too many times and never get enough back from so many people that I'm a bit cold hearted to it, at the same time, though, I eagerly want to be involved with people, as I spent a good portion of my life alone and don't like the thoughts or feelings of loneliness any longer. It's an odd paradox.

5. My tastes in music are really eclectic. I really don't have a specific 'genre' I like more than any other, and I'm just as prone to listening to weird remixes or mash ups as I am to anime music. I don't like instrumental OSTs from anime and games, though, unless they're themes that mean something to me. For the most part, I just find them to be background noise, and I don't see them as relaxing or interesting to listen to. I do, however, have a big soft-spot for Techno, particularly Trance, as I like the sort of 'cool down' effect it has on me while I listen. I also am particular to what type of music to listen to at certain times of the year or day (Jazz / Trance for night time, Trance for Winter, hip hop for summer, etc).

The CD I've listened to the most, however? The Persona 3 Resurrection OST, with all the redone songs with full vocals. Spent a full year in my car's cd player. I especially liked the redone Breath in Breath out.

6. I have an amazing sense of hearing, and a decent sense of smell. I can hear sounds other people can't, and I can hear 'movement,' in the sense that it is very hard to sneak up on me. It also tends to make me paranoid when I'm alone and in dark places. This only tends to fail me in areas with huge amounts of noise (like a Con) because my hearing becomes overloaded and it's hard for me to sometimes tell what people are saying to me. I can hear the mail truck coming down my street from 9 houses away just by the noise it 'makes' in the air. I can't really explain it.

7. Kind of apropos to this meme's timing, but the post Thanksgiving time of the year is my favorite time of the year. I'm a sucker for Christmas songs, decorations, holiday things, and most of all, shopping. I'm the only person in my family who actively shops on Christmas holiday sales, because I like to hand select gifts and cards. I also like cold weather, so there's that.

8. People have an odd misconception that I hate religion. That's not really the full truth. What I hate are dogmatic people who are blinded by their beliefs. I do, however, tend to cringe when people bring up religion right out of the gate (I have students who do this a lot) and it really bothers the hell out of me that they let it define their personalities, or they use it as some sort of shield to hide behind for things like hatred or ignorance. The truth is that I just hate ignorance, and religion is one of the largest forms of mass ignorance.

Here's a Dickens quote to sum up:

""You would deprive them of their means of dining every seventh day, often the only day on which they can be said to dine at all. ... You seek to close these places on the Seventh Day."

"There are some upon this earth of yours ... who lay claim to know us, and who do their deeds of passion, pride, ill-will, hatred, envy, bigotry, and selfishness in our name, who are as strange to us and all our kith and kin, as if they had never lived. Remember that, and charge their doings on themselves, not us.""

Basically, being religious is fine, but being religious in the sense that you need to use it to justify being a fuckass to other people means you should get a boot to the testicles.

9. I watch a lot more tv than I should, and not all of it is 'smart.' I like Family Guy and American Dad, and I enjoy a lot of sitcoms currently on tv. My favorite, though, is 30 Rock, and although the big joke is that he's a super republican, I consider Jack Donaghy a role model.

Man that was harder than I thought

can I just go back to yelling at ghosts of non-closure

I collect avidly from Koshi Rikdo's Rikdouan, and I collect Crazy Clover Club. I also collect some others, not necc. certain 'circles,' but themes; for instance I like Cirno a lot, so I collect Cirno gag doujinshi if I can find them.

I also picked up the 3 current Queen's Blade Fun Books, which were collected art from lots of different artists.

I used to try and get Studio Loud in School, but generally I don't find anything very interesting from them when I go looking, honestly.
